Panchayat official punished in ACB case

HYDERABAD: The government has punished T. Madhava Reddy, Korlakunta panchayat secretary who is in-charge of Tallampudi, in Kadapa district, by withholding his entire pension and gratuity permanently following his conviction by the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Nellore.

A press release issued by the ACB here on Wednesday said Reddy was sentenced to six month’s rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.500 for the offence under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. He was also sentenced to one year’s rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.500 for the offence under Section 13(2) read with 13(1) (d) of the Act.
