VIZIANAGARAM: Andhra University will introduce academic auditing and issue grades to its affiliated colleges from the ensuing academic year, according to Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana. At a press conference on Wednesday, Dr. Satyanarayana said that grading would be done based on various parameters that include governance, faculty, infrastructure, teaching / learning methods, results, placements, etc. The university would not hesitate to withdraw recognition of colleges that fail to meet the parameters and achieve the minimum grade. However, prior to withdrawing recognition, the university would give the colleges an opportunity to improve in a stipulated period, he added. This was being done to inculcate discipline and maintain standards. The percentage of pass in degree examinations in the district was very less when compared to other districts, he regretted. Later, the Vice-Chancellor, who was felicitated by the management of Gayatri Educational Institutions at Gotlam near here, where he inaugurated a Techno School building, said that higher education in India was only 11.5 per cent against the world average of 25 per cent
