No prior info will be given to staff about allotment of tables, constituency Information will be given three hours before counting begins on that day SANGAREDDY: District Collector Peeyush Kumar on Thursday called upon counting officers to abide by the rules during counting of votes on May 16 as even a minute deviation would create serious problems. Addressing counting supervisors at a one-day training programme organised by C.R. Brahmam, retired secretary of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Mr. Peeyush Kumar said no prior information would be given to the staff about allotment of counting tables and constituency. Noting down results“It will be informed three hours before the counting begins on that day,” he said adding that the supervisors should also make it a point that agents of all the political parties note down the results round-wise. Mr. Kumar said that second round of counting would be taken up only after the first round result was announced by the returning officer. Problematic EVMsMr. Brahmam suggested the officials to keep the machine aside if there was any problem during counting and inform the same to the Election Commission. “You need not stop the entire counting process. Continue the process while waiting for the final decision by the EC,” he said. Joint Collector Ram Shankar Naik, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Y. Upender Reddy and others attended the programme.
