Woman robbed of gold chain

KARUR: Unidentified persons threatened a woman at knifepoint and snatched away five-and-a-half sovereigns worth gold chain near here on Thursday.
Palaniammal, wife of retired headmaster Kandasamy, was asleep when the miscreants broke open the doors of her house at Arasu Colony, threatened and snatched away the chain before she could raise a cry and alert others.
Vengamedu police are investigating.
Examination results
The results of the Government Technical Examinations in tailoring, Indian music, dance and painting held in November 2008 would be notified at the respective examination centres in Tiruchi.
The results can be obtained at the centres till May 20, according to a press release issued by R. Chandrasekaran, Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations, Tiruchi.
