Airports staff strike put off

NEW DELHI: The Airports Authority of India Employees’ Union has put off its proposed nation-wide strike from midnight on Thursday night following a “favourable” order from the Delhi High Court pertaining to the employees’ demands. The Court on Thursday extended the voluntary retirement scheme deadline for the AAI employees by three months till July 31.

“Keeping in view the Court order as well as the ongoing general elections, we have decided to defer our proposed industrial action,” said union general secretary M.K. Ghoshal.
