Signals at the Vytilla junction to be upgraded

KOCHI: District Collector M. Beena has said that the traffic signal system at Vytilla junction, one of the busiest junctions in the State, would be upgraded using solar panel by the end of the year. Keltron will carry out the modernisation work with the assistance of BPCL.

At a meeting held to discuss the project, Dr. Beena directed BPCL authorities to submit the project for the approval of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

The upgrading of the national highway stretch between Aroor and Vytilla to four lane will be completed by next April, C.T. Abraham, Project Director, NHAI, said at the meeting.

Additional district magistrate C.V. Sajan, P. Prakash, Deputy Police Commissioner, V. Divakaran, Assistant Commissioner (traffic), N.M. Nahas, Project Engineer, Kochi Corporation and Vineeth M. Varghese, senior Public Relations Officer, attended the meeting.
