Bus fare cut with eye on polls, says PMK

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Pattali Makkal Katchi on Thursday complained that bus fares had been reduced with an eye on the elections.

In a statement, party founder S.Ramadoss contended that the fare would be restored to the original level once the elections were over.

“Such sudden measures will not prevent the defeat of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.”

Urging the Election Commission not to remain a mute spectator, Dr.Ramadoss said if the Commission, which had been very strict in other States, did not pull up the State government, this would create doubts in the minds of people. He wanted the Commission to transfer the Vellore Collector and police officers.
