Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide

Sirsi: Vasant Somalingappa Lamani (45), a farmer in Kalkeri village in Mundgod taluk, hanged himself in a nearby forest on Friday. He had one acre of land and had reportedly taken loans from banks and personal loans. He could not repay the loans as the crops failed. The Mundgod police have registered a case.
