House burgled
KRISHNAGIRI: Unidentified persons took away Rs. 1 lakh in cash and 15 soverigns of gold jewellery from the house of a provision shop owner Raman in Andiyur near Uthangarai on Saturday night when the occupant of the house were asleep.
The culprits tied the hands of Raman and his wife Sumathy and snatched the gold ornaments from the couple and took away Rs. 1 lakh cash before escaping in the dark.
On hearing the screams of the couple neighbours came to their rescue and untied them.
Later they were admitted to Vellor hospital for treatment. Singarapettai police have registered case and are investigating.
