Construct road over bridge

The Indian Railways is constructing a compound wall on the north side of Sattenapalli railway station for a distance of one kilometre to prevent possible encroachments on the railway land. Over 2,000 families are residing in this area and the entire population is depending on the main town, which is about 2 km. away, for their daily needs. The people have to cross the railway tracks and station to go to the town, as there is no other way except the managed level crossings on either side of the station, which are far away from the locality. The construction of compound wall is blocking the way for the public. Construction of a road over bridge for the residents here is the need of the hour.

Money matters

It is shocking to learn that Indians, particularly the politicians, amassed a huge wealth to the tune of Rs. 75 lakh crore that is safely stored in Swiss banks. Out of one billion population, two million can be stated as rich. If the remaining eight million shares the money, each individual gets a whopping Rs. 80,000. Currency bundles are being transported for purchasing voters is another glaring example. Is India financially poor? Virtues and righteousness are being thrown to the nether world and illegality and immorality are thriving only to end up in a colossal catastrophe at the time slotted ahead of us.

Make them ineligible

Nowadays, it has become a regular practice for the senior as well as budding politicians to make accusations against the senior most Government officials who are on duty. The other day, it was the MIM chief and senior Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, who threw an open challenge to the Director-General of Police to come for an open battle after shedding his police uniform. A few days later, it was the turn of R.K. Roja, a Telugu Desam Party’s candidate for Chandragiri Assembly constituency of Chittoor district, who reportedly threatened the Returning Officer concerned with dire consequences for allowing the Congress candidate from the constituency Galla Aruna Kumari into a polling booth. The Election Commission should take cognizance of irresponsible accusations and tantrums hurled by the politicians at the Government officials and make them ineligible.

Of inflation and price index

Of late, the Government of India is claiming that the inflation is coming down. Except for one or two commodities, the prices of all the commodities are however on the rise in the retail market. Ordinary citizens are in a confused State, as there is lot of difference between the prices announced by the Government and those in the retail market. As the Government is spending hundreds of crores of rupees on advertisements, I request the Government to issue a detailed statement about the state of inflation and prices of various commodities. I also request the Government to consider the retail market prices instead of the wholesale market prices while calculating the price index.
