Letters to the Editor
The senseless attack on an army convoy by activists of the Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, a pro-LTTE outfit, at Neelambur, Coimbatore, is outrageous. Such acts of hooliganism should not be tolerated in any part of the country. In what way is the PDK different from the militant groups of Jammu and Kashmir? The anti-national elements should be dealt with severely and no room given for the recurrence of such acts. H.P. Murali, Bangalore While all right-thinking people sympathise with the plight of the Sri Lankan Tamils, attacking an army convoy is no way to express sympathy. The government should take a serious view of the incident. Those responsible for the attack should be treated as anti-national elements and punished under the National Security Act. V. Krishnaswamy, Bangalore The elements which support the LTTE’s cause in Tamil Nadu are becoming emboldened by the day. That explains the attack on the army convoy.Jebamani Mohanraj, Chennai
