Nanhipari contest ends on glitzy note

BHUBANESWAR: Sreya Fule from Maharashtra was crowned with the title of Nanhipari Miss India 2009 during the closing ceremony of the 9th edition of the Little Miss India Contest organized on KIIT University Campus here on Sunday.

Thirty participants from 15 states were screened out of 200 applicants received from across the country, said the hosts of the contest. The contestants had to undergo 10 rounds of competitions on general knowledge, group discussion, cultural talent, sports and intelligence, they said.

Sreya, a student of Sunflag School, Bhandara in Maharashtra, who topped the contest, was awarded a cash prize of Rs.90, 000 besides the crown and gift hampers by KIIT University Chancellor and Nanhipari president Achyut Samanta. Orissa’s Sonali Patnaik was the runners up winning a cash prize of Rs.27, 000.
