Problem of plenty

Too hot to handle: Green chillies have flooded markets in Hassan district. They are grown on about 20,000 hectares in the district. Most of the produce is transported to Bangalore and Chennai. Earlier, the price was Rs. 20 a kg. On Monday, at the APMC yard, it was sold at Rs. 5 a kg, and on Tuesday at Rs. 6 a kg. At the weekly market on Tuesday, vendors sold them at Rs. 10 a kg. Farmers are worried over the price crash.
