Now mobile booths in Rajasthan desert

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission, which set up a polling station to collect just one vote in the Gir forests of Gujarat during Phase III of the general elections on April 30, is establishing six mobile booths in the deserts of Rajasthan for Phase IV on Thursday.

These stations, equipped with men and machinery, will visit Menau, Jesilia, Nehdai, Toba, Kayam Kik Dhani and Rablauo Fakirowala, coming under the Barmer constituency in Jaisalmer district, both in the morning and evening.

Otherwise the 2,324 voters in these villages will have to travel long distances in the hot sun to exercise their franchise. The mercury is already touching new heights.
