Many organisations take out protest march in Bhatkal Karwar: Several organisations took out a procession under the banner of “Tanzim” at Bhatkal on Friday in protest against the killing of advocate Naushad Kashimji in Mangalore last month. The procession was taken out in the evening from the Idga Maidan in the Bandar area to Anjuman High School Ground at the Old Bus-stand where a meeting was held. Addressing the gathering, K.L. Ashok, general secretary of Komu Souharda Vedike, said Naushad was an advocate who stood for justice. He demanded that the investigation of the Naushad case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He said that Naushad had taken up Padmapriya case and Sukhanad Shetty murder case in the interests of the public. Mr. Ashok alleged that the Sangh Parivar and the police had conspired to kill Naushad. The Muslim community had no faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State, he said. ChargeHe accused the Home Minister of interfering in all cases. Bhatkal MLA J.D. Naik addressed the meeting. A large number of people participated in the procession.
