4 hospitalised with gastroenteritis from Dhobi Galli Citizens can call 155304/1100 to register complaint HYDERABAD: After trying to play the blame game on the Bholakpur incident, GHMC and HMWSSB finally agreed to have common teams in each circle for better coordination. In fact, there will be more than one team in a circle as it is being divided into sectors to tackle any eventuality. Special Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu told presspersons on Friday that the respective deputy municipal commissioners and general managers of both organisations will be responsible for overseeing the work of the teams and generate daily reports to the head office on the state of affairs. Mr. Babu, who held a tele-conference with his circle officials, told them to get information about patients being admitted for gastroenteritis or such ailments from private hospitals also. Four persons were admitted for GE from Dhobi Galli in Malakpet and following this, it was decided to lay new pipelines costing Rs. 3.6 lakh. The works would be awarded on a nomination basis. He also urged the citizens to call up on 155304/1100 to register any complaints including those of water contamination to the municipal corporation. Random checkThe Special Commissioner also directed the chief engineering and superintending engineers concerned of each circle to randomly check the works claimed to have been completed by the contractors. Following this exercise, Mr. Krishna Babu and zonal Commissioners will themselves again crosscheck the bills before clearing them for payment. The decision was taken as bills amounting to Rs. 132 crore pertaining to 1,300 works came up for clearance in the last 10 days leaving the top official flummoxed. Disciplinary actionEngineers were warned of disciplinary action if any discrepancy was noticed in the crosscheck.
