Fire at hospital triggers panic

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The trouble for Bholakpur residents who were admitted at Fever Hospital for last few days seems to be far from over.

A fire that broke out in the Ward No.1 in the hospital on Friday morning triggered panic among patients and hospital staff.

Minutes after noticing flames, hospital staff shifted patients to another ward.

A fire tender from Musheerabad reached the hospital after receiving a call around 4.25 a.m. and brought the flames under control.

Around 30 patients were in the ward when the incident occurred.

Officials of the Andhra Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Department said that sparks emanated from electrical wires of temporary fans arranged in the ward led to the incident.
