Repolling at 70 booths in Bihar peaceful

Patna: Repolling at 70 booths in five parliamentary constituencies in Bihar that went to poll in the first phase on April 16 passed off peacefully on Saturday with an estimated 38 per cent voter turnout.

No untoward incident was reported though a BSF contingent neutralised an Improvised Explosive Device planted under a tree close to a booth at Anwaransalaia village in Gaya district in Aurangabad parliamentary seat, Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Neelmani said. The IED was defused before the polling started, he said, adding IG (Operations) S.K. Bharadwaj received intelligence inputs about the presence of the explosive last night. — PTI
