Catholic forum celebrates Mother’s Day

KOLLAM: The Kollam diocesan unit of the Council of Catholic Women in India (CCWI) observed International Mother’s Day with rituals and celebrations at the Tuet Saint Sebastian’s Parish Church here on Sunday. The day began with a high mass with Kollam Bishop Stanley Roman as the chief celebrant.

After the mass celebrations were held at the Holy Family Lower Primary School hall. A cake was cut, after which Dr. Roman delivered the Mother’s Day message. The function was presided over by diocesan president of the CCWI Jane Ancil Francis. Congress leader and former MLA Alphonsa John delivered the keynote address.

At the function senior women citizens were honoured.

Ecclesiastical advisor to the CCWI Rev. Xavier Lazar delivered the benedictory address.
