All vehicles coming from Benz Circle and going towards Machilipatnam will be diverted via Nidamanuru VIJAYAWADA: In view of the counting of votes to be held at V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College at Kanuru on May 16, the city police have decided to impose certain restrictions on vehicular traffic between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the day. All vehicles, including APSRTC buses, private buses, cars, auto-rickshaws and motorcycles, coming from Benz Circle and going towards Machilipatnam will be diverted via Nidamanuru. The vehicles will have to join Mahatma Gandhi Road at Poranki. Vehicles coming to the city from Machilipatnam will be diverted at Kankipadu. They will have to proceed towards Punadipadu and Kesarapalli to join the national highway. Vehicles coming to the city from Gudivada side will be diverted from Punadipadu junction towards Kesarapalli. Such vehicles will not be allowed towards Punadipadu and Kankipadu, as the route between Punadipadu and Kankipadu was declared one-way. The vehicles of the contestants and their polling agents will be allowed from the main gate of the engineering college. Those vehicles will have to be parked at the designated parking lot. The goods vehicles that travel between Benz Circle and Machilipatnam will, however, be allowed without any restrictions. Police Commissioner K.V. Rajendranath Reddy urged people to cooperate with the police by following the restrictions.
