Poll security arrangements

CHENNAI: A total of 15,500 personnel will keep vigil in the city for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13, said K. Radhakrishnan, Commissioner of Police, Chennai City.

Addressing mediapersons at his office in Egmore on Sunday morning, the Commissioner said that full-fledged security arrangements are in place to ensure a peaceful polling in the city.

“Nine companies of Central paramilitary forces, 12 companies of Tamil Nadu special forces, 13,000 city police personnel and 2,000 Home Guards will be on duty on election day,” Mr. Radhakrishnan added.
