Jaipur: One person was killed and four others were injured when police opened fire on Sunday to disperse a mob which allegedly tried to capture a booth at Gotada during repolling in Rajasthan’s Dausa district. The deceased was identified as Jaikishan. Three of the injured were rushed to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh hospital, 125 km from here, Superintendent of Police, Dausa, Nishar Ahmed told PTI here. Another injured was admitted to a local government hospital, he said. Meanwhile, voting was disrupted following complaints of rigging at booth no. 15 in Gotada. Five election duty officers posted there were removed, the Dausa District Collector said. Repoll in 59 polling booths was held peacefully, the Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) K.L. Bairwa told PTI. The average voter turnout was about 68 per cent, an election department spokesman said here. The Chief Electoral Officer has recommended to the Election Commission to hold repoll again at Gotada. Repolling was stopped on the direction of the election observer, Mr. Bairwa said. — PTI
