Water supply in rural areas to be monitored

HYDERABAD: Minister for rural Water Supply P. Venkateswara Rao reviewed the drinking water supply particularly in areas where outbreak of cholera and diarrhoea were reported.
Similarly, the contamination of a hand pump in Tejapur village in Adilabad District led to over 25 people falling ill and being affected with diarrhoea.
Cases of food poisoning were reported from villages of Medak and Vizianagaram Districts.
Chief Engineers of RWS have also been appointed as special officers to tour four or five districts extensively and to monitor the situation.
The major affected districts are Mahabubnagar, Srikakulam, Adilabad and Krishna and other districts.
