NEW DELHI: Sonia Chanu, with a total lift of 167 kg, finished fourth in the women’s 48kg category in the 21st women’s and 40th men’s Asian weightlifting championships at Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, on Monday.

Chanu lifted 74 kg in snatch and 93 kg in clean and jerk.

In the men’s 56-kg division, V.S. Rao took the sixth spot with a total lift of 250 kg (109+141), while Sukhen Dey was 10th with 240 kg (107+133). — PTI
