Chiranjeevi to focus on IT

HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi has said that information technology, bio-technology and pharma sectors would receive a boost when his party comes to power.

He is understood to have told this to Peter Burleigh, the United States Charge d’Affaires when the latter made a courtesy call on him at his residence here on Tuesday. When Mr. Chiranjeevi asked him about the slowdown and the US policy of outsourcing and a possible reduction in business relations between the two nations, Mr. Burleigh is said to have told him that India would continue to have its place of importance in the key areas of IT and outsourcing.

Praja Rajyam general secretaries Allu Aravind and K.V. Rao were also present when Mr. Burleigh and Deputy Chief of the US Mission in India, Steven J. White called on Mr. Chiranjeevi.
