Jewels stolen

CHENNAI: About 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments were reported stolen from a house at T.S. Nagar in Padi on Tuesday.

Police said Samiraj (27) and his wife Amala (23) who slept on the first floor of their house saw the front door open. The jewellery kept in the almirah was missing. Samiraj had kept the keys of the main door under his pillow before going to sleep on Monday night. Investigators suspect that the burglars might have taken the keys and entered the house.

Two mobile phones were also found missing. The police have registered a case.
