Met office issues heat wave warning

HYDERABAD: Several parts of the State reeled under a heat wave on Tuesday too, with no let-up in the dry and hot winds blowing from the north-east.

Mercury shot up in the entire Telangana region as also in the districts of Guntur and Prakasam in Coastal Andhra and Kurnool in Rayalaseema.

Maximum temperatures rose and were significantly above normal in the three regions of the State. The highest maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius was recorded at Rentachintala in Guntur district.

The State Met Office issued a heat wave warning, valid for Wednesday, to Telangana and the districts of Guntur, Prakasam, Kadapa and Kurnool districts.
