Somdev shocks Mayer

NEW DELHI: Somdev Devvarman, shrugging off his recent lean patch, came from behind to knock out the third seed and World No. 104 Leonardo Mayer and advance to the pre-quarterfinals of the $50,000 Zagreb ATP Challenger event.

Somdev beat his Argentine opponent 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the first round.

In the ATP event in Turkey, Prakash Amritraj and American partner Rajeev Ram advanced to the quarterfinals after beating local pair of Sami Beceren and Banis Erguden 7-6(3), 6-2 in the first round. — PTI
