COIMBATORE: The Department of History of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi, is offering a five-year integrated Master of Arts in history.

According to a university release, the course will include Indian history and public administration (syllabus relevant to Civil Service examination).

Allied subjects will include epigraphy, numismatics, archaeology, archives keeping, principles and methods of museology and quantitative history.

The course will also include basic computer applications, translation, Tamil typing, journalism, travel and tourism management and training for historical research.

Those who complete the course can be employed in the Indian Civil Service, as translators, museum curators, archive keepers, archaeologists, tourist operators, etc.
