PANAJI: The Law Commission of Goa, headed by Ramakant Khalap, former Union Law Minister, has decided to study in the first instance laws relating to agricultural tenancy, mundkars, land revenues, rent control, residential apartments, as well as the Bill relating to Successions and Special Notaries before the Legislative Assembly of Goa. In view of this, the three-member commission, set up by the State Government recently, has invited views, suggestions and proposals from the public as well associations of tenants, mundkars, etc. The terms of reference of the commission is to study inter alia legislation in force in Goa (including Portuguese laws) and to propose suitable changes and modifications with a view to coordinate, harmonise, simplify and to remove anomalies, ambiguities, inequalities, etc., in the existing laws, said a spokesperson of the Government here on Wednesday.
