I’ll wait till May 16: Jayalalithaa

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa said on Wednesday that she had been getting “feelers” from a number of parties but would wait till May 16 for the poll results, before deciding the future course of action.

Speaking to journalists after casting her vote here, Ms. Jayalalithaa, in response to a question whether the BJP had spoken to her, said: “There are feelers from many places, but I’m not responding to any overtures now. I prefer to wait until the 16th until I have the results in hand and then I will decide what to do in consultation with my allies.”

Ms. Jayalalithaa, however, said the AIADMK alliance would sweep the polls if the election was free and fair. She went on to say, “If the results are as I expect, I will be going to Delhi.”
