Media cell to provide poll results

KOCHI: The media cell at the district collectorate is gearing up to ensure a smooth flow of information on the lead positions and results during the counting of votes.

The cell will be equipped with communication facilities like the Internet, fax, and phone.

It will be operational from 7 a.m. on May 16, the day for counting votes. The four counting centres, the control room and the media cell will stay connected ensuring that the flow of information is prompt.

The National Informatics Centre has developed the software and this will be installed with the assistance of Keltron.

Another software will be used for publishing the lead position from time to time.
