Filled-in applications should reach the convener on or before June 2 Students may call 9866559629 or 040-24734898/68 for more details VIJAYAWADA: A Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to fifth class (English medium with CBSE syllabus) in social welfare, tribal welfare and general residential schools in Krishna district for the academic year 2009-10 will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 28. M. Chandrasekhar, principal of AP Residential School, Musunuru, who is the convener of CAT-2009, said in a statement that the entrance test would be of fourth class standard. It would be held in Telugu and English media, and Urdu medium for minority students. ApplicationsApplications would be sold from May 14 to 29 at all general residential schools, social welfare residential schools, tribal welfare residential schools and offices of district education officer at Machilipatnam, deputy education officers at Nuzvid, Machilipatnam, Gudivada and Nandigama. Each application costs Rs.50 for OCs, Rs.30 for BCs and minorities and Rs.10 for SCs, STs and physically handicapped. EligibilityFilled-in applications must reach the convener, CAT-2009, at AP Residential School for Minorities (girls), Door No. 49-9-21, Cheruvu Centre, RTC Training Centre building, Vidyadharapuram, Vijayawada, on or before June 2. The convener said that only children of families whose annual income was less than Rs.60,000 a year were eligible for admissions. OC students must have been born between September 1, 1998, and August 31, 2000, while SC and ST students must have been born between September 1, 1996, and August 31, 2000.
