HYDERABAD: Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal has exuded confidence that Congress was on its way to retaining power in the State by winning more than 155 in the Assembly seats apart from 33 in Parliament. Mr. Rajagopal on Thursday announced the outcome of two post- poll surveys commissioned by him, which predicted that the Congress would win 155 sure seats besides being locked in a neck and neck race in 54 other Assembly segments. The final figure, he said would be any where between 175-189 Assembly and 36-37 Parliament seats. Break-upGiving the region-wise break-up of the 294 seats, he said in Telangana, the party would win 38 Assembly seats while the tally would be 32 and 85 respectively in Rayalaseema and Andhra regions. He noted that the party was locked in neck and neck race in 27, 14 and 13 seats respectively in Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions. SamplingClaiming that the post-poll survey sampling ranged from 8,000 to more than 11,000 in some segments, the Congress candidate from Vijayawada LS constituency said the party would win hands down in 33 Lok Sabha constituencies while six other seats would witness close contest. Barring Adilabad, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Medak, Zaheerabad, Warangal, Hyderabad, Bhongir and Hindupur LS constituencies, the Congress would win the rest, he claimed at a press conference here. He went to the extent of claiming that 21 Ministers would win the elections and the rest would have a tough time.
