Five eateries shut down
HYDERABAD: Five eating establishments including the famous Midway Bakery, Epicurus Restaurant, Santosh Dhaba were ordered closed in Banjara Hills by the GHMC’s health and sanitation staff on Thursday for unhygienic kitchen and dining rooms.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, M. Jairam, said that six special teams, each consisting of two Assistant Medical Officers of Health, one Food Inspector, two Sanitary Supervisors and other staff have inspected 45 eating establishments in Road No.1, 2 & 12 of Banjara Hills.
Two hotels – Chutneys and Basil, received appreciation from the teams for maintaining their premises neat and clean, according to Dr. Jairam.
He appealed to all the hotel owners to maintain good sanitary conditions, to supply pure and wholesome water and also serve freshly prepared food to the customers as it will help in preventing diseases like jaundice, GE and typhoid fevers.
