Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: Srivarimettu, the second footpath to Tirumala, which the TTD renovated recently, has been provided with a welcome arch today to add to the ambience. The second flight of steps, spanning 6-km. leading to Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, is located at Srinivasa Mangapuram about 12 kms from here on the Chandragiri side.

Besides, a dining hall attached to the Kalyanamandapam built close to the temple was also inaugurated today by the TTD Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary at a simple ceremony. The ornate cement concrete arch and the dining hall were constructed at a total cost of Rs.55 lakh.

Meanwhile, the three-day Vasanthothsavam at the Srinivasamangapuram temple which got underway yesterday continues to be a big draw.
