Raid on club conducted

CHENNAI: Survey Intelligence Vigilance wing of the Service Tax Department conducted a search in various premises belonging to the Corporate Club on Thursday.

A release from the Department said that the Club was registered with the Department but was not paying Service Tax by suppressing the taxable value. The authorities assessed the tax evasion to be around Rs.2 crore.
