ANANTAPUR: The Agriculture Department has planned to supply 5,50,900 quintals of seed groundnut on subsidy to the farmers in the district for the coming kharif season. About 1,60,000 quintals of seed groundnut has already reached the district and it has been sent to mandal level stock points. Of the total quantity to be supplied 1,71,000 quintals will be supplied by Markfed, 1,32,970 quintals by Haca and 2,46,930 quintals by Oilfed. According to Joint Director of Agriculture A.M. Fahim, 2,50,000 quintals will be of TMV-2 variety, 1,60,000 quintals of JL-24, 60,000 quintals of K-6, 30,000 quintals of Polachchi, 30,000 quintals of Narayani and the rest of other varieties. The government was also planning to supply 2,500 quintals of red gram seed.
