Magazine Editor gets threat call
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Editor of People’s Post news magazine, Lalit Shastri, claims to have received a threat call purportedly for publishing a report on the working of the Medical Council of India. Mr. Shastri said an unidentified person rang up his office on May 12 threatening to shoot him. The alleged call was received by the magazine’s graphic artist Shriram Sen. A complaint was lodged at the Defence Colony police station the same day. He has also written to the President, the Prime Minister and the Delhi Police Commissioner about this.
The alleged threat came a day after the latest issue of the news magazine carrying the report on the MCI hit the stands.
Mr. Shastri had earlier submitted a series of questions to the MCI under the Right to Information Act.
