Dena Bank to open 100 branches

Targets Rs. 85,000 crore business in 2009-10

KOCHI: Dena Bank Chairman and Managing Director D.L. Rawal has said that the bank will open 100 new branches this year, including three in Kerala.

The bank has 11 branches in the State with the opening of a new branch at Kakkanad on Friday.

The total number of branches has gone up to 1,186, of which 443 are in rural areas and 223 in semi-urban areas.

The bank will open 400 new branches in three years, he said.

With a business of Rs.72,300 crore, the bank has made a profit of Rs.422.66 crore as on March 2009.

The business target for the current year is Rs.85,000 crore. The bank has capital adequacy ratio of 12.07 per cent.

The bank is confident of crossing the one-crore customer base this year.

The process of recruiting over 500 officers and 1,200 clerical staff was in progress. The bank has presence in 24 States and four Union Territories. It is keen to expand operations in Kerala.

The bank has 391 ATMs and 7.21 lakh debit cards. All the branches have been computerised and core banking solutions facility was available at 679 branches.
