KURNOOL: Heavy gales caused extensive damage to crops in Mahanandi mandal of Kurnool district on Sunday and Monday. The loss was estimated at Rs. 1 crore. According to reports, banana plantations on hundreds of acres were uprooted in Mahanandi and surrounding areas. Hailstorm also contributed to the damage. -Special Correspondent
