This Day That Age
The construction of a VHF telecommunications network to link the capitals of the Baghdad Pact nations – Ankara, Teheran and Karachi – is to begin at once, it was announced in Ankara on May 18, the headquarters of the Baghdad Pact countries, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. The new system will cost about 20 million dollars, to which the United States is substantially contributing and to which the Pact countries will pour in their own funds.
