Kendriya Vidyalaya achieves 100 per cent pass in Plus Two

MADURAI: The Kendriya Vidyalaya-I at Narimedu here has achieved centum pass percentage in Class XII examination results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which were declared on Wednesday.

R. Aishwarya, who was the school topper with 481 out of 500 marks. The second place went to A. Madhubala who scored 470 marks. M. Jeevanandam came third with 465 marks.

“We are delighted with the results since the Madurai Kendriya Vidyalaya got centum pass after a gap of nearly two decades. All the 100 students who appeared in the examinations had passed. Many of our school students had scored over 90 marks in the subjects,” V. Rajagopal, Principal, said.

Ms. Aishwarya, who is aiming to become an engineer, scored centum in mathematics, 99 in chemistry, 96 in physics and 93 in computer science. Ms. Madhubala, who is determined to do MBBS, got 95 marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. In biology, she scored 92 marks.

The Principal said that 67 students had appeared in the science stream while 24 appeared from the commerce stream. Nine students had written the examinations from humanities’ stream and all the students from these three streams had passed.

E. Prabhakar, Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan (KVS), Chennai, said that the overall Class XII results of the CBSE’s Chennai Region which covers Tamil Nadu and Kerala were good this year.

“The overall pass percentage of Chennai Region is 94.19 this year. Out of the total 3,509 students from 52 schools in Tamil Nadu and Kerala who appeared for the Class XII examinations this year, 3,305 students had passed,” Dr. Prabhakar said. He said that the Madurai results too were very good.
