KOZHIKODE: Schools in Kozhikode district fared well in the Class XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The results of the CBSE Chennai region were declared on Wednesday. Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, East Hill, scored 94 per cent pass. In all, 30 per cent of the 198 students who took the examination, secured 90 per cent and above, Maya George, Principal, said. The pass percentage in the science stream was 94.5 per cent. Praveen S. Prasad is the school topper in science stream with 486 marks out of 500 (97.2 per cent). In humanities, 44 students took the examination and the pass percentage is 89 per cent. Of the 35 students who appeared in the commerce stream, 95 per cent passed. Of the 102 students who appeared for the examinations from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chevayur, 14 students got 90 per cent and above. Sona S. topped with 488 marks (97.6 per cent) in science stream. In commerce, Meenakshi Menon with 89.4 per cent marks topped. Alphonsa Senior Secondary School, Thamarassery, secured 100 per cent pass in the CBSE examinations. George Thomas Chelackal, Principal, said of the 37 students who appeared for the examination, 23 got distinction (75 per cent and above) and 14 first class. Bhagyalakshmi, who got 455 marks, is the school topper. Silver Hills Public School, Paroppady, achieved 100 per cent pass. Out of the 82 science stream students, 18 students got 90 per cent and above, Biju John, Principal said. The school topper got 95 per cent marks. Veda Vyasa Vidyalayam, Malaparamba, achieved 100 per cent pass. A. Chenthamarakshan, Principal, said out of the 90 students in the science stream, 69 got distinction (75 per cent and above), 20 first class and the rest second class. Vivek Chakrapani Warrier scored 481 (96.5 per cent) and topped the science stream in the school. In the commerce stream, Raiza Sherim topped with 487 marks out of 500. Amrita Vidyalayam also scored 100 per cent pass. Jithin K.M. and Parvathi K.Jain topped in science and commerce streams respectively.
