26/11: More data provided to Pakistan

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday handed over additional information to Pakistan on the involvement of its citizens in the Mumbai terror attacks. The External Affairs Ministry handed over to a diplomat of the Pakistan High Commission the details sought by Islamabad, official sources confirmed.

The information consisted of the confessional statement of the lone surviving gunman, Ajmal Amir ‘Kasab’ and DNA samples of all the terrorists. Pakistan had complained that one of the DNA samples was a duplicate. India acknowledged the “clerical error” and sent fresh samples.

President Asif Ali Zardari was among the first few leaders to congratulate Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his party’s poll victory.
