KOCHI: Malappuram’s Mampad Government VHSS, with five wins and 15 points, won the AFC Vision India Project’s Kerala State schools football league which concluded at the Maharaja’s Stadium here on Thursday.
Kozhikode’s St. Joseph’s BHSS, with 13 points, finished runner-up in the seven-team league, while host Ernakulam’s Sacred Heart (Thevara, 12 points) was third.
St. Joseph’s BHSS defeated Sacred Heart 1-0 in the league’s final match on Thursday with Akshay G. Prakash scoring the match-winner in the 57th minute.
Kozhikode’s Miswer Ali, with 17 goals, emerged as the league’s top scorer.
The Kerala Sports Minister, M. Vijayakumar, gave away the prizes. — Principal Correspondent
