Power comes and goes: Lalu

New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad appears resigned to his possible non-inclusion in the Union Cabinet.

“Power does not remain forever. It comes and goes. Ups and downs. We have seen a lot of this,” Mr. Prasad told NDTV when asked whether it would be difficult for him to be out of power.

Mr. Prasad said his inclusion in the Cabinet was the prerogative of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The RJD, which was the largest ally of the UPA in the 14th Lok Sabha, won only four seats in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Mr. Prasad said he would go back to the people who were the real strength of the party. — PTI
