Sri Lankan MP dies of heart attack in Madurai

MADURAI: Sri Lankan Tamil politician and Member of Parliament Kanagasabai Pathmanathan died here following a massive heart attack early on Thursday.
Pathmanathan (60) had come to Thirumangalam to attend a private function of his friend Devendran along with a Sri Lankan businessman Thiruselvam.
On Wednesday night, while staying in his friend’s house he developed severe chest pain and was taken to a private clinic at Thirumangalam.
He was directed to go to a specialty hospital, but he died on the way.
The body was brought to Government Rajaji Hospital where a post-mortem was performed.
It was flown to Chennai from where it would be taken to Sri Lanka.
