New tyre to improve mileage

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Tyre major Goodyear on Friday announced the regional roll out of ‘DuraPlus’ a new product with TredLife technology aimed at improving mileage on Indian roads apart from long life for four different passenger car segments.

At a press conference to announce the launch, D.P. Singh, vice-president, Sales & Marketing, Goodyear India said ‘DuraPlus’ came in four sizes to suit popular vehicles like Santro Xing, Wagon R VXI, i10, Yuva, Esteem, Estillo VXI and Accent and was competitively-priced.

The new tyre comes close on the heels of ‘ArmourGrip’, launched last year.

Refusing to divulge the company’s market share, he said South India in general and Andhra Pradesh in particular had always shown appreciable growth. To a question, he agreed that the decline in sales of vehicles had indeed affected tyre manufacturers in the second half of the last year. However, things were improving and a growth of three per cent was being predicted now, he said.
