28th India Knit Fair concludes

Tirupur: The 28th India Knit Fair organised by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) under Union Ministry of Textiles in association with Tirupur Exporters Association and Indian Knit Fair Association came to a close here on Friday.
New range
AEPC sources said the fair, conducted with an aim of projecting the export prowess of domestic manufacturers to the foreign buyers, showcased new range of spring/winter collections of 53 firms from Mumbai, Tirupur, Chennai, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
Cotton, synthetic and synthetic-blended summer collections were displayed in numerous shades and designs. Garments made with organic cotton bamboo viscose, viscose lycra, viscose modal with reactive print and recycled garments from cotton waste fabrics proved to be a hit with visitors.
Adding life to the show, the newly developed mineral fabrics range, which offers UV protection and odour resistance properties, were exhibited.
Foreign buyers
AEPC sources said that 39 buyers from United Kingdom, Italy, France, Turkey, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Ghana, Austria, West Indies and Denmark, and 129 buying agents of foreign buyers based in India visited the stalls.
Added attraction
An exporters’ meeting and fashion shows were added attractions at the fair.
